Keeping your browser cache clean can help improve performance and security. Here's how to do it for popular browsers, with links to helpful Google videos:

General Tips:

  • Before clearing your cache, remember that it may temporarily log you out of websites and clear saved user preferences.
  • Back up any important information you might lose, like saved passwords or forms.
  • It's generally safe to clear your cache regularly, but do so responsibly.

Chrome:

  1. Open Chrome and click the three dots in the top right corner.
  2. Select "Settings" and then "Privacy and security."
  3. Click "Clear browsing data."
  4. Choose a time range (e.g., "All time").
  5. Make sure "Cached images and files" is selected. You can also choose other data types to clear.
  6. Click "Clear data."

Firefox:

  1. Open Firefox and click the three horizontal lines in the top right corner.
  2. Select "Preferences" and then "Privacy & Security."
  3. Under "Cookies and Site Data," click "Clear Data."
  4. Choose a time range and select "Cached Web Content" along with other desired data types.
  5. Click "Clear."

Safari:

  1. Open Safari and click "Safari" in the menu bar (top left corner).
  2. Select "Preferences" and then "Privacy."
  3. Click "Manage Website Data."
  4. Search for specific websites to remove their data, or click "Remove All."
  5. Confirm by clicking "Remove Now."

Microsoft Edge:

  1. Open Edge and click the three dots in the top right corner.
  2. Select "Settings" and then "Privacy, search and services."
  3. Under "Browsing data," click "Choose what to clear."

  5. Click "Clear now."
